(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The national final round of the AYDA Awards 2025 competition, organized by Nippon Paint, marks a successful season with impressive young design talents in the fields of architectural design and interior design.
AYDA Awards: An 18-Year Journey of Elevating Young Talent
Established in 2008, the AYDA Awards quickly spread and became one of the most prestigious competitions in the field of architecture and interior design, attracting thousands of students from over 20 countries such as China, Japan, Singapore, Türkiye, and more.
Now in its 18th year, AYDA has become a competition venue and a bridge connecting contestants with leading experts from both domestic and international backgrounds. Notably, contestants also have the opportunity to compete internationally and win full scholarships for the ” Discover Design” program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, USA.
Beyond being just a platform for creativity, the AYDA Awards carries a larger mission as part of Nippon Paint’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) statement. The AYDA Awards 2025, themed “ Convergence : Creating Cultural Heritage”,
Each year, AYDA presents a guiding theme that reflects key industry trends. This year’s theme, “Convergence: Creating Cultural Heritage,” encourages young designers to explore and research different cultures in depth to understand design processes appropriate for specific contexts. This understanding will form the foundation for creating cultural heritage that aligns with the practical needs of the community.
By incorporating diverse perspectives, designers can identify opportunities, bridge gaps, and breathe new life into their work with local ideas and materials. Design with cultural identity is a way to honor the past and shape a sustainable, prosperous future.

The judging panel, comprised of leading experts from across Vietnam representing diverse professional perspectives in the field of design, reviewed and evaluated nearly 500 entries to select the top 10 outstanding entries.
The top 10 contestants had the opportunity to revise their entries and present their designs to the judges for a chance to win a ticket to represent Vietnam at the international round in Bangkok, Thailand next June.
The winners of the AYDA Awards 2025 national awards have been revealed.
After a period of intense competition, the two winners of the AYDA Awards 2025 have been revealed:
Architectural design category: Le Vo Hong Phuc (Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture) with the project “Behind the Dream Forest”.
Interior design category: Nguyen Van Quyen (University of Industrial Fine Arts) with the project “Handprints on Do”.

Besides the two winners, the competition also honored many other outstanding contestants:
Second prize in the architectural design category: Kindergarten – Nguyen Thi Hong Ha ( Hanoi University of Architecture).
Second prize in the interior design category: Indigo Thread – Do Khanh Linh ( Da Nang University of Architecture).
Third prize in the architectural design category: Dấu Vải Dấu Làng – Nguyễn Huỳnh Tú Quyên (Van Lang University), Ghé Cái Răng – Vũ Hương Quỳnh (Hanoi University of Architecture), Mạch Trà – Trần Phát Thịnh (Van Lang University), Thị Trình Vàm Biển – Nguyễn Duy Tân (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology), Giao-Gieo – Phạm Kiều Oanh (Hanoi University of Architecture).
Third prize in the interior design category: Moc Dinh – Tran Thanh Truc (Ton Duc Thang University).
Color Scheme Award in Architectural Design: Color Station – Tran Hoang Bach (Van Lang University).
Color Scheme Award for Interior Design: A Gathering of Colors Amidst the Clouds – Nguyen Huynh Ngoc Han (Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture).

In addition to the AYDA Awards for design students, Nippon Paint also organizes a competition for professionals – the Creative Color Award (CCA). The Creative Color Award is designed to honor real-world projects that intentionally and effectively apply color – where color not only plays an aesthetic role but also contributes to shaping spatial experiences and creating emotional value for users.
In 2020, AYDA Awards received the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards, a testament to Nippon Paint’s efforts in creating sustainable value for future generations of architects. Together with CCA and AYDA Awards, Nippon Paint continues to affirm its mission of partnering with and creating practical value for the Vietnamese design community.
