NIPSEA Chemical Korea (NCK) has successfully completed a landmark infrastructure project that fundamentally transforms its operational energy model. The installation of a high-capacity On-site Solar Power Generation System marks a decisive shift away from reliance on fossil fuels. This signals a new era where NCK is not just an energy consumer but an active “Energy Prosumer.”

The scale of this installation is significant. With a total installation capacity of 259.935 kW, the system is projected to generate an impressive 360,530 kWh of clean electricity annually. To put this into perspective, this output is expected to cover approximately 61.7% of NCK\u2019s total energy needs based on the previous year’s consumption data. This high level of self-sufficiency insulates the company from volatile energy markets while ensuring operational stability.

Beyond the operational metrics, the environmental impact is immediate and measurable. The shift to renewable solar power will eliminate an estimated 148.178 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. This represents a massive 43% reduction compared to previous emission levels. In ecological terms, this carbon reduction delivers the same environmental benefit as planting 1,000 pine trees annually, making a tangible contribution to the region\u2019s green canopy and air quality.

As global regulations tighten, particularly with mechanisms like the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), international partners are demanding greener supply chains. Simultaneously, NCK is implementing a smart Energy Management System (EMS) to realise autonomous energy consumption.
