This state-of-the-art facility, located at the Group’s Tokyo Office, represents a significant investment in fostering collaboration, accelerating technological advancement, and driving the future of the coatings industry.
Designed for Collaboration and Synergy
At the heart of the Tokyo Innovation Centre’s design is a commitment to open communication and cross-functional synergy. The facility features an open-plan layout and a central staircase, thoughtfully designed to bring engineers from all group companies together on a single floor. This collaborative environment aims to break down traditional silos, enabling the seamless integration and evolution of technologies that drive both productivity and innovation across the Japan Group.

A Global Hub of Expertise
The five-story building ranks among the largest research centres within the Nippon Paint Group globally and will serve as a base for over 200 engineers and specialists. The centre brings together a diverse range of expertise from Nippon Paint Co., Ltd., Nippon Paint Automotive Coatings Co., Ltd., Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings Co., Ltd., Nippon Paint Surf Chemicals Co., Ltd., Nippon Paint Marine Coatings Co., Ltd., and Nippon Paint Corporate Solutions Co., Ltd.

Driving the Future of Open Innovation
Beyond internal collaboration, the Tokyo Innovation Centre serves as a central hub for open innovation initiatives. The facility will actively foster partnerships with a wide range of external stakeholders, including customers, research institutions, leading universities from around the world, and value chain partners, to drive the development of new technologies.
