This November, the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai once again became the focal point of global trade as it hosted the 2025 China International Import Expo (CIIE). Returning for its second consecutive year, Nippon Paint China expanded its presence significantly, increasing its booth size from 300 to 500 square metres to showcase its latest advancements.
Under the theme “Together, Refresh a Sustainable Future,” the exhibition aligned closely with China’s current development priorities, featuring innovations in the low-altitude economy, AI in manufacturing, high-quality housing, and new-energy vehicles.

Innovations Taking Flight
A major highlight of the event was the global debut of the Nippon Paint Low-Altitude Aviation Comprehensive Coating Solution. As the “low-altitude economy” gained traction, the team presented a dual-shield system developed over the last four years.
The first shield acts as “protective outerwear” for carbon fibre composite airframes. Crucially for aviation efficiency, this coating achieves a weight reduction of approximately 20% compared to conventional aerospace coatings. Complementing this is a second shield designed for the ground. The team introduced a resilient coating system for takeoff and landing sites that resists the intense airflow generated by rotors, preventing surface degradation while offering anti-slip and anti-cracking properties.

Smarter Manufacturing and Mobility
In the industrial sector, the booth featured the China debut of the Nippon Paint Radiative Cooling Coating. This solution addresses high energy consumption by allowing building surfaces to dissipate heat directly into space using a specific atmospheric window. In a practical scenario based on Shanghai’s summer weather, applying this to a 10,000-square-metre plant could save nearly 25% in monthly energy usage.
Simultaneously, the team addressed the electric vehicle market with another China debut: the New Energy Power Battery Pack Coating Solution. Making its China debut, this system offers three essential layers of protection: insulation at the cell level, a fire-resistant coating to mitigate thermal runaway risks, and a polyurea housing coating capable of resisting stone chips at speeds of 100 km/h.

Building a Sustainable Living Environment
The exhibition also placed a strong emphasis on High-Quality Eco-friendly Housing Coatings. The team showcased integrated systems for exterior walls that combine coating, insulation, and waterproofing to create a robust safety barrier. A standout innovation here was the Ultra-low-energy Integrated Facade Panel, which can achieve up to 90% energy savings compared to untreated walls, significantly boosting the eco-friendliness of residential buildings. For interiors, the team demonstrated a flooring system that reduces impact noise by 20–30 dB, enhancing comfort for residents.
Underpinning these technologies is a firm commitment to sustainability. In 2024, over 71% of Nippon Paint’s new product sales came from sustainable products, a standard the company applies across its marine and industrial offerings.

Partnerships for a Stronger 2026
Beyond the technology on display, the event was a success for business and relationships. Nippon Paint China hosted 90 delegations, including a visit from the Singaporean Ambassador to China. The commercial impact was equally strong, with the team securing over RMB 46 million in contract value and generating leads from more than 135 new potential clients.

Through these new connections and strengthened public-private partnerships, Nippon Paint China has set a solid foundation for continued growth and collaboration as we look ahead to 2026.
