Preserving the Unique Culture of Indonesia’s “Nepal Van Java”

Through its #ColouringLives CSR programme, Nippon Paint Indonesia has brought new colour and protection to the unique tourist destination of Dusun Butuh, Magelang. Famously known as “Nepal Van Java” and located on the slopes of Mount Sumbing, the village’s spectacular tiered houses are a symbol of community spirit and ecotourism. To safeguard this heritage against the region’s humid, high-altitude climate, Nippon Paint donated 1,654 litres of Nippon Elastex Waterproof 3-IN-1 paint. The project also included a mural competition themed “The Culture of the Nepal Van Java Community” to help preserve local culture and create meaningful public spaces.

Elevating Construction Skills and Standards in Indonesia

In a direct commitment to the local workforce, Nippon Paint Indonesia collaborated with the BJKW (Balai Jasa Konstruksi Wilayah) III Jakarta to support a Competency Certification event for 100 construction workers in Serang. Held at Yayasan Mambaul Fawwaz, our teams from the Specification Project, Technical Project, and Marketing divisions provided both theoretical material and hands-on practical training. For us, this was more than a certification; it was a chance to share knowledge and foster confidence, because we believe that investing in human quality is key to sustainable development.

Celebrating National Pride with Vietnam’s Largest Mural

In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, Nippon Paint Vietnam unveiled its 20th “Beautiful Vietnam” mural project. In a meaningful collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Police, the project brought a 300-metre stretch of road to life with 36 distinct panels depicting the nation’s heroic history. The artwork, which now holds the record for the “Largest hand-painted mural road in Vietnam,” has become a unique symbol connecting the country’s past with its dynamic present. Using premium Nippon WeatherGard paint, the mural is protected against harsh weather, ensuring this celebration of national pride will continue to inspire for years to come.
